Former Australia great blasts Prithvi Shaw for his underwhelming form

Many youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan have impressed with their performances in the Indian team. However, one promising Indian youngster is currently away from the limelight. Moreover, he is facing challenges to resurrect his career. He is aggressive right-handed batter Prithvi Shaw.

Once considered a bright talent, Shaw is now a discard from the Indian team.

Following a long injury setback, he made a comeback in Ranji Trophy. However, barring an 159 against Chhattisgarh, he could not reach the triple figure in the five other matches that he played in the tournament. He will next be seen in Delhi Capitals colours in the Indian Premier League 2024.

Meanwhile, former Australian cricket team spinner Brad Hogg blasted Shaw for his dismal form.

“Ponting will firstly address Prithvi Shaw’s form. He is not living up to his expectations at the moment. He has got to change the way he goes about his business, he has got to gain confidence,” said Hogg, who has played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKL) in the IPL, on his official YouTube channel.

“If Shaw can up his game, it will benefit Delhi Capitals. Ponting will be really working on Shaw’s form with his strategy for the first six overs. If he can turn things around and compliment Warner, then the middle order is going to expose opposition teams,” Hogg, who is a two-time World Cup winner with Australia, added.
