Ind vs Ban in Champions Trophy: Fans accuse Gambhir of favouritism after Harshit included in team in place of Arshdeep

Harshit Rana has been included in the playing XI of the Indian team in place of Arshdeep Singh for the match against Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday.

In response, several fans expressed their dissatisfactions over various social media platforms. They even went to the extent of accusing head coach Gautam Gambhir of favouritism.

Fans slam Gambhir 

“Arshdeep Singh not playing? Are you kidding me? Gautam Gambhir is going too far with his Harshit Rana bias, Arshdeep Singh deserved to play ahead of him,” wrote a fan on social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).

“Wait What??? Arshdeep Singh isn’t playing??????????,”wrote another fan.

As far as Rana and Arshdeep are concerned, both have a very fledgling career in the 50-over format. While Arshdeep has played nine games to scalp 14 wickets, Rana has four wickets in two games.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bangladesh had a very bad start. As per the latest report, they have lost wickets for 123 in just 33 overs.

India will play all their matches of the tournament in Dubai due to their strained political relationships with Pakistan who is the host of the tournament.
