Jasprit Bumrah
BCCI is all set to announce the next captain for the Indian Test team soon. As per reports, Shubman Gill has emerged as the frontrunner for the all-important role.
Meanwhile, former India star Sanjay Manjrekar stated that Jasprit Bumrah’s injury concerns and availability is being overstated in the conversation of who will be the next India captain in Tests, for the tour of England.
As per reports, while some former players were raising questions about Bumrah’s fitness, who are supporting Gill over Bumrah, others are questioning Gill’s performance in overseas Tests, who are supporting Bumrah to take over the captaincy.
Manjrekar took the whole issue from a different point of view as he pointed out that ‘Has Bumrah said he won’t captain India?’

“Has Bumrah said he won’t captain India? Or has he ruled himself out of the England series? Then why are we discussing who will captain India?" asked Manjrekar.
The former India star compared Bumrah to Rohit, as Rohit also captained India in Australia for just three out of five Test matches.
“If Bumrah’s availability because of injuries is the issue, didn’t we have Rohit captain India in just 3 of the 5 Tests in Aus recently?" asked Manjrekar.
