Following Virat Kohli's announcement about his Test retirement, Delhi Ranji coach Sarandeep Singh has come up with a shocking revelation.

Sarandeep expressed his surprise over Kohli's sudden retirement from the longest format of the game. He revealed that Kohli was all set to tour England and was preparing for it as well, expressing a desire to play the matches for India A to acclimatise himself to the English conditions.

"When I heard this news that Kohli has announced his retirement. This was a big surprise for me. And as far as we were talking about the Delhi Ranji Trophy, the way he was playing the matches, 4-5 days before that, we started talking to him about the matches he wants to play. He showed his involvement," said Sarandeep in a recent interaction.

"The way he started his preparation for the red ball, he was talking about how the Australia tour would have been, but he was preparing for the England tour, how we would win the Test match.
