Deepak Chahar recalls MS Dhoni’s tactical brilliance which helped CSK win crucial IPL 2018 clash

Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the all-time greats who have graced the game of cricket. The Captain Cool is not only known for winning 3 ICC Trophies, but he is also adored by his fans for his captaincy masterstrokes and skills on the field.

Recently, India fast bowler Deepak Chahar went down memory lane to a match in the IPL 2018 where MS Dhoni’s tactical brilliance helped Chennai Super Kings beat Kings XI Punjab which is now called Punjab Kings (PBKS) in MCA Stadium in Pune.

During the game, Ms Dhoni demoted himself down the order and promoted Deepak Chahar above him where he scored a blistering knock of 39 runs of 20 balls with 1 four and 3 maximums.

MS Dhoni also chipped in with a handy knock of 16 runs as CSK won the crucial match against Punjab as both teams were hustling for a place in the IPL 2018 playoffs. 

"That was the only game where Mahi bhai [Dhoni] gave me batting before him and I scored some runs in that game. And we won that game,” Chahar told ESPNcricinfo.

Chennai Super Kings announced their arrival in style by winning the IPL 2018 edition which was a fairy tale moment for the Yellow Army fans.
