The crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium was treated to a spectacular one-man show from Shubman Gill who smashed his second consecutive IPL century during Sunday's IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans.

Earlier, Bangalore posted a competitive 197/5 with Kohli smashing his second consecutive century through an unbeaten 61-ball 101. The former Indian skipper’s century had given hope to the RCB’s die-hard fans about reaching the playoffs and winning the trophy for the first time in the history of IPL.

However, Shubman Gill’s 104 off 52 balls broke millions of Bangalore-supporting hearts while stealing Kohli's thunder. Besides, Bangalore got crashed out of the race to the playoffs.

Soon, in an unfortunate turn of events, a few fans of the RCB reportedly abused Shubman and his sister Shahneel Gill on social media. Some also wish for Shubman’s death while targeting his sister’s Instagram.

Some also came out in support of Subhman and lashed out at those calling themselves fans of Virat Kohli stating that such reactions will only bring a bad name to RCB, Virat Kohli and Indian cricket at large.

Amid the use of abusive language on Shahneel's Instagram, a netizen wrote, "Kohli and his real fans love and admire Gills greatness and they respect his beautiful family as well. Don't be disappointed by some toxic people. They actually doesn't belong to any side any player."
