Renowned South African batsman David Miller, who is popular among fans for his power-hitting, has recently shared a devastating news of the passing of a little kid Ane.
Meanwhile, social media is abuzz with the speculation that the deceased was his daughter, who passed away due to cancer. However, as per multiple reports, she was not Miller's daughter, rather she was the aggressive batter's die-hard fan, and was battling cancer.
Farewell Note
In a farewell note, David Miller poured his heart out, wishing his biggest fan goodbye after she passed of cancer at the age of just five. The Proteas batter posted a heart-warming video on Instagram capturing some of his best moments with his ‘little rockster’. He captioned the video, “RIP my little rockster Love you always!”.
In the video, Ane was found sharing moments with her favourite cricketer Miller and the entire South African team. She is found playing cricket with the explosive batsman. She is also seen wearing miller’s jersey and in another picture, she is found armoured with cricketing types of equipment like pads, gloves and helmets. The brave girl is also marked with long hair and followed by cleanly shaven head after getting chemo treatment for cancer.
The aggressive batter also shared a picture of Ane through an Instagram story that contained a heartfelt message.
“Going to miss you so much my skut! The biggest heart I’ve ever known. You took the fighting to a different level-always incredibly positive and with a smile on your face. A cheeky and mischievous side to you. You embraced every person and every challenge in your journey. You taught me so much about cherishing every single moment in life! I feel humbled to have walked a journey with you. I love you so much,” Miller wrote.
Lessons from Ane
As per Miller, Ane taught him immensely about treasuring “every single moment” in life and that he feels humble to have shared a journey with Ane. He finished his message by saying, “I love you so much. RIP”.
Was Ane Miller’s Daughter?
Some fans were mistaken by Miller’s post and thought Ane was cricketer’s daughter. However, Ane wasn't his daughter. She was his fan, battling cancer, and was very close to Miller. However, there has been no official confirmation from Miller’s side yet.
Notably, 33-year-old Miller is currently playing the white-ball series against India in India. The three-match ODI series is currently tied 1-1 with both the teams winning one each.
