India's weightlifting icon Mirabai Chanu sent her fans into overdrive after winning gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in England.

The Olympic silver medalist shattered the Games record while lifting 201kg (88kg in snatch + 113kg in clean and jerk) to seal her third consecutive Commonwealth medal at the showpiece event.

The win not only prompted fans to shower praises on the weightlifter but also moved illustrious personalities across the globe to send hearty congratulations to her.

Hollywood movie star Chris Hemsworth, known for playing the role of Thor (God of lightning in Norse mythology) in the league of superheroes called Avengers also took notice of the monumental feat of Chanu.

One of the fans of Mirabai Chanu tagged the actor in his tweet while praising the Indian weightlifter. He wrote, "Time for Thor to give up his hammer."

Meanwhile, Chris replied to the fan's tweet and admired Chanu in his comment. He called the weightlifter a 'legend' and 'worthy' while actually referring to one who deserve to possess the power of the Norse God like in the MCU movies.

"She is worthy! Congrats, Saikhom, you legend," replied the Thor actor to the fan's tweet.

 

In terms of work, Chris' recent release “Love and Thunder” performed well in the box office. The Australian hunk will be next seen in the 2nd part of 'Extraction' series premiered in Netflix.
