Chahal & Dhanashree Verma were already separated from 2022: Reports

In a significant development, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially dissolved their marriage. With all the legal formalities, the Bandra family court approved the couple’s joint petition, officially dissolving their marriage on the orders of the High Court.

Chahal, in a move to expedite the process and ensure no further delays in the legal formalities, agreed to pay a substantial alimony sum of Rs 4.75 crore to Dhanashree Verma. The amount reflects the couple's desire to settle the matter amicably and move forward with their separate lives without dragging the divorce proceedings further.

Living Separately Since 2022:

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the couple had been leading separate lives since June 2022. Yes, you read that right! Latest reports suggest that the couple who had tied the knot in December 2020.

Although they were very much in love during their initial days, their relationship started to show the signs of weakness within just two years of marriage. The couple’s social media interactions soon started to be few and far between.

They started posting a number of cryptic posts that fuelled suspicions of their bitter relationship. Over the course of the months, the rumours evolved into serious conjecture before Chahal first removed their photos from social media.

Later, the duo also unfollowed each other on Instagram, confirming their separation.

Reason for the Divorce:

Chahal and Dhanashree’s love story began in 2020 when the spin legend signed up for Verma’s online dance classes during the Covid-19 lockdown. The student-teacher relationship soon turned into something more meaningful and they fell in love.

After dating for a few months, the couple decided to get married and announced their engagement via a picture-perfect post on Instagram. Later in December 2020, Chahal and Verma got married in a traditional ceremony in Gurgaon. The grand affair was attended by their close friends and family.

Their marriage was off to a great start with both spending the lockdown together and posting lovey-dovey pictures of each other. Whether it was their adorable dancing videos or Dhanashree’s presence at the cricket stadium to support him, the fans were enamoured by the duo.

However, the relationship faded soon after the honeymoon phase with bitterness showing between the two. While the reason for their bitterness is not public, Dhanashree’s latest cryptic post through her music video ignited rumours of ‘cheating’ and ‘extra-marital affairs’. On the other hand, social media is abuzz with pictures of Dhanashree’s pictures with her male friends that left fans worried for Chahal.
