  • Dhoni, lovably called ‘Mahi’, is seen in different looks with varying hairstyles. However, the cricket legend on Friday stunned everyone with his never-seen retro look.

One of the most favourite captains of India's men cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a different fan base across the world. Apart from his on-field performance, the 40 years old cricketer is liked for his cool attitude while being fierce in his moves on field, especially his 'helicopter' shot. The Cricket World Cup (2011) winning captain also is famous for his hairstyles throughout his cricketing career.

Dhoni was first noticed during his debut (2004) in international cricket with his long hairs. His long and golden-streaked hair brought him a unique identity for which Pakistan's former president, Pervez Musharraf in 2006 during his tour to the neighbouring country advised him not to get a haircut while many of his fans insisted him otherwise.

Since then Dhoni, lovably called ‘Mahi’, is seen in different looks with varying hairstyles. However, the cricket legend on Friday stunned everyone with his never-seen retro look.

India's well popular celebrity hairstylist and tattooist from Mumbai Aalim Hakim shared a post on his verified Twitter handle that showcased Mahi's new look.

He captioned the post: "Legend Dhoni Sports A Dashing Look. Thoroughly enjoyed doing this haircut & beard for our legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni."

The latest pictures of Captain Cool stormed the internet and left Twitteriate split with their opinions.

However, Mahi looked younger and more dashing in his new hairstyle than his usual looks, as they say.

Following his long and golden-streaked hairs, in 2007, the cricketer reverted to his original look and sported straightened hair which was also liked by his fans.

However, in 2008, he opted for an ideal summer look by getting his hair trimmed on the sides and keeping the volume of hair only on the nape and crown.

In 2010, Mahi shocked his fans when he was seen with a buzz cut. Following that, he opted for a bald look after winning the ICC World Cup title in 2011. Once again in 2013, the CSK skipper hit the headlines in 2013 when he chopped off his locks to don a crew cut. In the same year, fans went crazy when they saw their cricket icon with a funky 'Mohawk' hairstyle.

In 2018, the wicketkeeper left his female fans in awe by sporting a retro ‘V Hawk’ haircut. Dhoni was also seen sporting a salt and pepper look in the same year.

The World Cup Winning Captain and favourite skipper MS Dhoni announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on 15 August 2020 that left his fans shocked. However, Mahi still shows his magic on field during the IPL league.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will meet Chennai Super Kings, lead by Dhoni, in Dubai on September 19 when the IPL resumes in the United Arab Emirates.
