Australian Minister Tim Watts With Virat Kohli
Nothing comes without struggle, dedication and discipline and star cricketer Virat Kohli encapsulates every word. The hunger and passion to be the best in the world in cricket defines Virat Kohli. In his international career, he has made a name for himself and many budding cricketers looked up to him which is a hallmark of Kohli’s greatness.
The Indian cricketer's ability to connect with fans and leaders alike highlights his far-reaching influence beyond the cricket field. A little glimpse of it was witnessed when Indian team members were hosted by the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese at the Parliament House in Canberra. Tim Watts who is the Australian assistant minister for foreign affairs was all smiles after meeting Kohli. He even clicked a selfie with him showing Virat’s popularity and fandom all over the world.
"A bit of a thrill to meet the Australian and Indian players in the PM's XI game at Parliament House tonight. I told Virat Kohli that I support Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL because it's the only opportunity I get to legitimately barrack for him. I give him the highest praise I can offer any international cricketer when I say that I've loved watching him play because he plays like an Australian. Just not when he's playing AGAINST Australia of course," Tim Watts captioned on Instagram.
This encounter with Tim Watts further cemented Kohli’s status as a global sporting icon.
Speaking more of Kohli, the Indian batter announced his arrival in some style, and roared back into form by scoring a sensational century against Australia in Perth, which shut down all the critics who were questioning Kohli’s place in the test side.
India is leading the Border Gavaskar Trophy 1-0 as the 2nd test is going to be played in Adelaide Oval from 6th December. Kohli too enjoys batting in Adelaide where he has scored 3 test hundreds.
