Though the high-octane match between India and Pakistan was washed out due to heavy rain in Asia Cup at the Pallekele International Stadium in Sri Lanka on Saturday, it was the ‘sprit of cricket’ that emerged as the true winner.

Before the start of the high-voltage match, a number of pictures, videos and stories had surfaced on social media, highlighting the camaraderie between the players of the two teams.

Moreover, during the match, a picture went viral on various social media platforms where ‘Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya could be seen getting his shoelace tied by Shadab Khan.

The picture won the hearts of several fans. They hailed Shadab for his gesture and termed it as the spirit of cricket.

Coming back to the match, wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Hardik Pandya produced a wonderful rescue act to give a semblance of respectability to India’s total after Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled a fiery spell to put India into trouble. However, rain prevailed after India’s batting and the situation didn’t allow Pakistan to start batting. It forced both the teams to split points among them.
