Andre Russell covers his ears as fans roar upon THALA’s arrival in Chennai - WATCH

On Monday, the crowd at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium erupted with joy after seeing the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni came in to bat against Kolkata Kinght Riders. While CSK required just 3 runs to win, the crowd gave the former Indian captain a thunderous reception as their wish got fulfilled after seeing Thala entering the ground.
 
The crowd support was so intense that it compelled all-rounder Andre Russell to close his ears as the noise level peaked at the Chidambaram Stadium with the chants of ‘Dhoni Dhoni’.

With a comprehensive win against Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings got back to winning ways after suffering two defeats.
 
Ravindra Jadeja was instrumental with the ball in restricting KKR’s total to 137 as he took 3 wickets in the middle overs. 

In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad played a captain's knock of 67 runs which helped CSK hand KKR their first loss in IPL 2024.
