Rohit Sharma
Following off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement from international cricket just after the completion of the third Test against hosts Australia during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, speculation was rife that captain Rohit Sharma would also hang up his gloves soon.
Veteran batsman Rohit is currently going through a horrible form and he has been facing severe criticism for it from the fans and experts. Many experts are of the opinion that the 38-year-old cricketer should announce his retirement after the Test series against Australia to facilitate the transition of the Indian team and make way for talented young cricketers.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has finally made the big announcement, addressing the retirement specualtions that his numbers have not been good lately but he will keep on playing for India as long as his body and mind are moving well.

“I have not batted well. There is no harm in accepting that. But I know what is in my mind and how I am preparing myself. All those boxes are very much ticked. It’s just about spending as much time as possible, which I am pretty sure I am just there. As long as my mind, my body, and my feet are moving well, I am pretty happy with how things are planning out for me,” said Rohit during a recent interaction.
“Sometimes those numbers can tell you that it has been a while since he has got big runs. But for a person like me, I think it’s all about how I feel in my mind, what kind of preparations I am having before each game, and how I am feeling about myself. That is the most important thing. And I am feeling good about myself, to be honest. Runs are obviously not showing that, but inside it’s a different feeling,” he added.
