After the heartbreaking loss to Australia in the 2023 ODI Men’s Cricket World Cup, India once again faced a humiliating defeat to the Aussies in the U-19 World Cup final on Sunday. Just in three months, India has been beaten by Australia twice.
The Aussies replicated another World Cup final heartbreak for India with their 79-run victory to lift their fourth U-19 World Cup title. India went unbeaten to the final in both World Cups and ended up on the losing side after facing Australia in the final.
This is India’s third successive defeat to Australia in the ICC-organised tournament after the ICC World Test Championship final 2023 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
The back-to-back defeats have left cricket lovers across India heartbroken. India has been facing defeat since the 2014 World Cup Final which has left cricket lovers heartbroken. Many took to memes and hilarious social media posts to heal from the heartbreak.

Worth mentioning, Australia won the toss, and captain Hugh Weibgen decided to bat first. The Aussies set a target of 253/7 runs with 42 runs from Harry Dixon that helped the Kangaroos get off to a good start.
Later, Weibgen also took control of the game and scored an impressive 48 runs off 66 balls and formed a crucial partnership with Dixon. Furthermore, Harjas Singh made a crucial 55 runs from 64 balls and took Australia to a better position.
However, India’s chase was off to a shambolic start as they lost four batters within the first 20 overs. India’s top three run-getters in the tournament Musheer Khan, Uday Saharan, and Sachin Dhas were dismissed easily.
Despite Abhishek Murugan’s efforts, Australia sealed the game in the 44th over.
