Kane Williamson-led New Zealand’s five-wicket win against Sri Lanka has Pakistan staring at an improbable situation for a semifinal spot in the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. Going by the point table, it seems next to impossible for the Babar Azam-led team to reach the semifinal. Only a miracle can save Pakistan now. 

Nothing can stop them from taking their flight back to Karachi until unless they win against England in their upcoming match. However, they will have to win by 287 runs if they bat first and if they chase they will have to win with 284 balls.

Meanwhile, India, South Africa and Australia have already sealed their spots in the final four. Now, New Zealand have also put one foot forward into the semifinals after their victory over Sri Lanka. 

On the other hand, Pakistan which is currently in the fifth position will take on England on Saturday.
