MS Dhoni is often considered as a shrewd captain and he often keeps his emotions under check during the matches. The Captain Cool never loses his calm irrespective of the tense situations on the ground. However Dhoni’s former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) teammate Harbhajan Singh has now revealed that there was one occasion when Dhoni even cried while being surrounded by CSK players.

As per Bhajji, the incident took place in 2018 when CSK were making their comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) following suspension for two seasons.

“There is a story which I want to share. Back in 2018, when CSK made a comeback to this league after a two-year ban, there was a team dinner. I have heard the saying that ‘Men don’t cry’, but MS Dhoni cried that night. He became emotional. I think no one knows about this,” said Harbhajan.

Even, former CSK spinner and South Africa cricketer Imran Tahir joined Harbhajan to validate the story. As per Tahir, it was that moment when he came to know how close the team was to Dhoni.

“We came back after two years and won the title. People give your team the tag of ‘buddhe’ (old men), and even I was in the squad that season. However, we won the trophy. I am very proud of that victory. Looking at Dhoni like that, I came to know how close CSK is to his heart. He considers the team as his family. It was a very emotional moment for all of us,” said Tahir.
