Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Bhubaneswar late night on Sunday on a special flight to attend several events during his two day visit to Odisha. He was accompanied by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Shah was given a rousing reception by top leaders including state party president Samir Mohanty, National Vice President of party Jay Panda, Opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi, MP Aparajita Sarangi among others at the Bhubaneswar BPI airport.

Hundreds of party members and general public gathered to welcome the Home Minister waving Tricolour with celebration of traditional folk dance and music.

Shah too waved at the jubilant party workers and people before going for a close up meet with the crowd.

Soon after reaching Odisha, the top BJP leader took to Twitter and wrote, ‘Looking forward to attending various programs in Odisha. I am grateful to the people of Bhubaneswar for the warm welcome.’

Shah is scheduled to hold discussions over party affairs with the state’s top brass and also attend several programmes lined all day long today.

First he will visit the temple of Lord Lingaraj at 8 am top offer prayers on the last Shravan Monday.

Later he will travel by road to Cuttack and take a tour at the iconic Netaji’s birthplace museum. Thereafter, the Union Minister is scheduled to attend the 75th anniversary of publication of leading Odia daily Prajatantra at the Indoor Stadium in the Millennium City.

Shah will then return to Bhubaneswar where he is slated to hold discussions with party’s core committee members, office bearers. It is expected that he might give targets to party leaders for the 2024 general elections.

Tight security has been put in place in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in view of the Union Home Minister’s visit.
