High drama unfolded at the Titlagarh municipality council meeting on Friday as Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu engaged in a faceoff with Chairperson Mamata Devi Jain.

As per allegations by the Chairperson who is a BJP leader, the meeting of Titlagarh municipality council was in progress and various programmes undertaken were being discussed when all of a sudden, the Minister flew off her handle and misbehaved with her.

The situation came to such a pass that the Chairperson was seen coming out of the meeting hall in tears.

Chairperson Jain further alleged the Minister warned her she didn’t have any rights and the municipality will function as per her (minister) wish.

“The Minister misbehaved with me as I am a Bharatiya Janata Party leader,” alleged Jain.

The meeting also reportedly witnessed two ward members of the BJP and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) hurling abuses at one another.

While the reaction of Minister Sahu is yet to be received, vice chairperson of Titlagarh municipality council termed the allegation as baseless.

“We were present at the meeting but did not see the Minister misbehaving with the chairperson,” said Vice Chairperson Pushpa Manjari Jal.
