Thalapathy Vijay today directly blamed M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and his government for its inefficiency in curbing the drug menace in the state. According to the Tamil superstar, the current government has been unable to stop the notorious activities of the drug mafia in the state. As a result of which drugs are largely and easily circulated in Tamil Nadu.

Attacking the Stalin government, Thalapathy Vijay said, “The government must protect the youngsters from drugs. The current government has failed miserably.” He added that the state is now in need of some good political leaders. He was talking at the felicitation program of 10th and 12th students at the Convention Centre in Chennai.

The attack by Thalapathy Vijay is relevant to the current situation as recently 60 students were found dead in the Hooch tragedy. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has already taken notice of this tragedy that occurred in the Kallakurichi district and asked for a detailed report from the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Tamil Nadu Police.

The Madras High Court has given period until July 3 to file the report. It has put a huge pressure on the DMK government. And in such a situation this public statement of Thalapathy Vijay can trigger more problems for the existing government.

The superstar announced his entry into politics early this year by launching his political party called Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. He declared during the launch that his party will contest the 2026 state assembly elections.

In his statement, he said that after the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, his team will decide the flag, symbol, policies, and ideologies of his party.
