Amid intense politics over the SOP released for the implementation of the SUBHADRA Yojana, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, on Saturday, said that the first instalment of the scheme which would have fallen due on Raksha Bandhan this year will be released by PM Narendra Modi on September 17.
Parida revealed the same at a party programme in Puri. Her statement came in response to Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik’s comments criticizing the guidelines released by the BJP government.

Parida also clarified that 1.08 crore people have been included in the list for the scheme.
“Widows and Divyang women receiving allowances will get SUBHADRA assistance along with women artists receiving allowances. If a woman wants to list herself for the scheme, she can do so through a self-declaration and approval from the local MLA. Moreover, women who attain 21 years of age by July 1, 2024, will also be eligible for the scheme," Parida said.
