State Executive Committee Meeting of Odisha BJP

A whopping Rs 50,000 crore was being misappropriated every year in the name of 5T during the rule of the BJD government, alleged the state unit of BJP in its political resolution passed at its first Executive Committee meeting held in Puri on Saturday.

"During the BJD rule, over Rs 50,000 crore was being misappropriated every year in the name of 5T. Then, the situation of education, health and women's safety were at their worst. In politics, 25 years is a time period. During this period, the BJD failed to do the minimum development of Odisha due to its lack of willpower and farsightedness," the party alleged in its resolution.

While terming it the black days of BJD’s anarchy and corruption, the party has taken a decision to ensure a clear, transparent and popular governance in Odisha.

Taking a swipe at the BJD, the saffron party in its resolution said, “During the 25 years of BJD reign, Odia Asmita and pride was not safe. While the elected public representatives became something like rubber stamps, the then Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was ruling the state with the help of some corrupt non-Odias. Odia businessmen were sidelined and importance was given to non-Odia businessmen. Now Naveen Babu has formed a shadow cabinet. By doing this, he is trying to hoodwink Odisha people once more.”

In its resolution, the state unit of the party also assured that it would keep the promises made in its ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto). It said soon the farmers will receive Rs 3100 as MSP for Paddy and women will receive a voucher of Rs 50,000.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured to make Odisha the number one state in the country. The party also decided to pull all the stops to realise what the Prime Minister had dreamt for Odisha.

While addressing journalists, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said, “Odisha will celebrate its 100th year of formation after 12 years. Around 1200 artisans also took 12 years to complete the Konark temple. We have also set a target for 12 years. During this period, instead of 1200 artisans, over 12,000 BJP workers from the grassroots level to the Chief Minister will work for Odisha's development. Our ‘Sankalp’ is to form a new and modern Odisha by the time Odisha celebrates its 100th birthday in 2036.”

No reactions were received from the BJD.
