The injured were rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Later, two of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.

As per reports, the clashes occurred between both the parties following the defeat of a Sarpanch candidate in the recently-concluded Panchayat elections. Some vehicles were also ransacked during the clash.

Mangalpur police detained two persons after registering a case in this regard. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
