At a time when the State unit of the Congress party is preparing for the Bharat Jodo Yatra launched by Rahul Gandhi, two of its MLAs Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Md Moquim-trading words over party politics has made the situation embarrassing.

Moquim insists that he wouldn’t visit the Congress Bhawan till he receives the reply to his answer he has submitted with respect to the show-cause notice served to him by the party.

“They had served me a show–cause notice following my casting vote to elect Draupadi Murmu as the President of India. I have already submitted my reply. But I am yet to receive any response from their end. I will go to the Congress Bhawan after receiving the reply,” clarified Moquim.

“Considering my act as anti-party activity, they had served me a show-cause notice. I am expecting a reply from the party. As long as I don’t receive a reply, I wouldn’t go to the party office. This is the reason why these days I have confined myself to Cuttack only,” the legislator added.

He also said that seniors are being sidelined in the party and youths are being denied opportunities for which youth leaders are leaving the party.

Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati was quick to respond to the Moquim’s stand. “Rahul Gandhi is now busy for Bharat Jodo Yatra. Being an MLA, he should know it that the explanation on his show-cause is bigger than the Bharat Jodo Yatra.”
“Despite being a four-time MLA, sometimes I am thrown into the dustbin and sometimes receive garlands on stage. He is a one-time MLA. He shouldn’t be so impatient. It is Congress party, an ocean. Here it can’t be predicted when one gets dissolved,” said Bahinipati.
