Senior BJP leaders of the likes of Dharmendra Pradhan, Baijayant Panda and Sambit Patra who have been vested with the responsibility of other states in the country by the party are finding it difficult to physically campaign for the upcoming Panchayat polls in their home state.

As per reports, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been charged to oversee party’s Uttar Pradesh election campaign. Similarly, following a splendid performance in Assam, party National Vice President Baijayant Panda has been entrusted with the Delhi civic polls scheduled for this year.

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra is also given the responsibility of Manipur state elections.

With responsibilities of other states on shoulder, these BJP leaders from Odisha are assumed to remain absent during canvassing for the Odisha Panchayat polls.

However, State BJP Vice President Bhrugu Baxipatra said, “The three leaders have made themselves available for campaigning till now. We are taking their schedules as per availability and will time their public addresses accordingly.”

“The State BJP will try to take maximum benefit of the campaigning by these three senior leaders in this Panchayat elections,” he added.

Meanwhile, the BJP which has decided to go all digital in its campaign in an effort to reach out to maximum electorates in the short time, will launch its star campaigners at different places of the State for the purpose.

The three tier Panchayat polls will be held in Odisha from February 16, 2022.

The polling will be held with a gap of one day between each date on February 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24.
