While different political parties and the candidates in the fray for the ongoing three-tier Panchayat elections are adopting innovative ways to woo the voters, the son of Chitrakonda MLA from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Malkangiri seems to have gone a step ahead.

These days, the young politician, who may find himself in his father’s boots in future, is seen making voters in the constituency to swear in the name of God to stamp a selected candidate on the ballot paper during voting.

As per reports, Mahesh Baka, son of Chitrakonda MLA Purnachandra Baka, visited the villages under Badadural Panchayat under the assembly constituency to meet the voters. Mahesh made the voters take pledge ‘in the name of God’, with a promise to vote for specific Sarpanch and Samiti member candidates.

Moreover, the MLA's kin made the voters swear that they would be punished by the God if they didn't vote for the selected candidates.

The entire oath-taking scene was captured in a video that is now making rounds on social media.

The young politician is heard saying in the viral video, "For the improvement of Badadural Panchayat, and welfare of poor and destitute, we will make Chaitan Kishani victorious as Samiti member. In the name of God, we take the oath. If we deviate from our oath, we will be punished by God."

However, Mahesh's reaction to the disclosures is yet to be obtained.
