Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided roofs to roofless people. In Odisha, 18,38,331 houses have been constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) during eight years of PM Modi government, said Odisha BJP President Samir Mohanty on Wednesday.

While addressing a press conference on the occasion of Modi government completing eight years of coming into the power, Mohanty pointed out the achievements. “A total of 3,25,000 beneficiaries in Odisha have been benefitted from Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana,” Mohanty informed.

Informing about the Centre’s assistance to Odisha, Mohanty further said whopping 52,34,000 women have received free LPG gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

“Similarly, 10.89 crore toilets have been constructed across the country and of them, Odisha’s share is 71 lakh. Once the development would remain confined to pen and paper. Now, they have been transpired into action. In the last eight years, Odisha received an AIIMS and construction of new highways of 5,897 kms," said Mohanty.

In its reaction, the BJD said the saffron party achieved nothing in the eight years.

“They (the BJP) did not achieve any success. However, the assurance of ‘achhe din’ has turned out to be more problematic for people” said senior BJD leader Pramilla Mallik.
