To add a much-needed impetus to its campaigning for the next phase of elections in Odisha, the Congress has lined up the visits of its central stalwarts. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge will come calling to the state on different dates. Congress veteran Jairam Ramesh will come to Odisha tomorrow and hold a press meet in Bhubaneswar.

Informing about the visits of the party leaders, Congress leader and Odisha in-charge Ajoy Kumar told the media on Monday that Rahul Gandhi and Kharge will address public gatherings in Bolangir and Kandhamal on May 15 and May 16, respectively.

Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Bolangir on May 15 for the party’s Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates.  Rahul Gandhi will lead a bike rally before addressing a public meeting that day.

Ajoy Kumar also added that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge will address a public meeting at Kandhamal on May 16, apart from holding a press meet in Bhubaneswar.

This is the second visit of Rahul Gandhi to Odisha in the current election season. Earlier on April 28, Rahul Gandhi kick-started the party's campaigning from Salepur. On May 3, Rahul Gandhi was supposed to attend a public rally in Rayagada, but he could not turn up due to his nomination filing for the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat.
