Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will attend the oath-taking ceremony of Draupadi Murmu, who has been recently elected as India’s 15th President. 

Patnaik will be on a four-day visit to New Delhi, starting Saturday. During his stay, he will attend the oath-taking ceremony, scheduled to be held on July 25. 

Patnaik earlier greeted Murmu on behalf of his state people on her victory in the race to Raisina Hill. 

Notably, the elections to choose the successor of Ram Nath Kovind was held on July 18, with all elected MLAs and MPs across the country exercising their franchise. 

Murmu on Thursday emerged victorious as the 15th President of India by defeating Opposition Presidential pick Yashwant Sinha. While the former bagged 6,76,803 votes, 3,80,177 votes sere secured by Sinha.  

With her victory, Murmu will be the second woman, first tribal female and the youngest to occupy the top most constitutional office in India. She will also be the first President born after the Independence.
