The Odisha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government of eliminating accused as well as witnesses in sensational murder cases involving politicians and threatened to launch a Satyagraha on December 26.

Addressing a presser in Bhubaneswar, State BJP president Samir Mohanty alleged that the accused and witnesses in Mamita Meher murder case, Puri ZP member Dharmendra Sahu murder case and Mahanga double murder cases were eliminated.

“Mamita Meher murder main accused Gobinda Sahu was murdered inside the jail with the help of police. It was feared that Sahu would disclose the names of politicians and Ministers during his appearance in court scheduled on the day,” Mohanty alleged.

“We all know about double murder case at Mahanga. All were aware of involvement of then Law and Panchayati Raj Minister Pratap Jena in the case. He was also named at 13th accused in the FIR. The main accused of the case was also murdered,” Mohanty added.

The State BJP chief went on to allege that the State government has created a record of destroying all evidence.
“Be it Bebina (Pipili rape survivor ) or Kunduli survivor, none has got justice. In this context, we have decided to hold a four-hour-long Satyagraha near the statues of great personalities across the state on December 26,” Mohanty declared.

Responding to the allegations, BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra said, “All know how son of Union Minster of State (MOS) in UP drove his car into protesting farmers and how he was shielded."
