Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  today approved the draft proposals on 10 important political and social issues in its executive body meeting held at the party State headquarters on Monday.

The meeting chaired by the State BJP president Sameer Mohanty in thr presence of State-in-charge D Purandeswari, deputy in-charge Bijay Pal Singh Tomar, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Pratap Sarangi and party national vice president Baijayant Panda along with a host of party MPs and MLAs has prepared the roadmap for the next three months.

A blueprint has been prepared to floor the BJD-led State government over its failure in every front, the party said.

After the meeting, State vice president Bhrugu Buxipatra said that the Odisha government has miserably failed to prevent the Covid infections in the State.

"The government has failed in 'test, track and treat’ to combat Covid 19. Corona testing has not been increased in the State. Contact tracing has been hit severely due to less testing," he said while addressing a press conference.

Besides, the government has hidden the actual number of fatalities due to the contagious virus, he alleged.

Apart from Covid mismanagement, he further alleged that the pucca houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana are being allotted on party (political) considerations while the real beneficiaries are deprived of the government scheme.

Buxipatra alleged that machines are engaged in MGNREGA works which reduced the rural jobs while migrant labourers are suffering due to job crisis during the pandemic.

The party unanimously passed a motion of thanks for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over free vaccination, free rations to poor and assistance to farmers.

BJD, on the other hand, hit back at the saffron party saying that Prime Minister had no intention to provide vaccines.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no intention to provide vaccines free of cost. But, he did it after CM Naveen Patnaik wrote to the other CMs to pressurise the Centre on  a central vaccination programme,” BJD MLA Pramilla Mallick said.

BJP should discuss the flaws in the central government in the fight against Covid-19. Odisha has earned name in supplying oxygen to needy States. CM Naveen Patnaik has made all-round efforts to make the nation Covid free, she added.
