The State Election Commission (SEC) of Odisha on Wednesday released the reservation list for councillors in all 107 Urban Local Bodies (NAC/Municipality).

As per the reservation list, 668 wards out of total 1756 are unreserved while 122 are reserved for SC, 171 for SC Women, 49 for ST and 133 for ST Women. A total of 613 wards have been reserved for women.

Briefing the media, SEC Aditya Prasad Padhi said, “The district collectors have submitted the delimitation and reservation list to the SEC while the State government has furnished the delimitation and reservation list of three municipal corporations. Therefore, the process for the Municipal polls can be started now.”

“In this process we will first carry out revision of electoral rolls. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised its electoral roll on January 1, 2022 and sent us assembly-wise on January 5, 2022. On the basis of the list, electoral rolls will be revised for municipality, NAC and corporations,” Padhi said.   

Padhi said the primary voter list will be published on February 10 and objections will be invited for six days between February 11 and 16. The final electoral roll will be published on February 24 and submitted to SEC after four days on February 28. 

He said the electoral roll revision will be completed by February end for all the 110 urban local bodies- 48 municipalities, 59 NACs and three municipal corporations. 

He clarified that there will be no new addition of names in the voter list as the list has been revised on January 1, 2022 and correction will be made if any mistake surfaces.
