The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has called its nine MLAs from Odisha to Delhi to attend an important meeting, informed senior party leader and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on Tuesday.

According to sources, the Congress legislators are scheduled to leave for Delhi in the evening today.

The meeting is likely to witness a discussion on party's next strategy in connection with Enforcement Directorate’s notices to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in National Herald case, sources informed.

“AICC secretary had called me and told me to inform all legislators to reach Delhi by 6 pm today. The ED notice to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi is an attempt to create fear among the people of the five states that will go for polls soon. I think there will be an important meeting tomorrow,” informed Bahinipati.

Notably, Congress had launched a nation-wide agitation protesting ED notice to party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in a money laundering case linked to the National Herald-Associated Journals Ltd deal.

It is worthwhile to mention here that, Rahul Gandhi has been summoned on Tuesday - for the fifth time - by the Enforcement Directorate for questioning the investigation in connection with its probe in the National Herald case.

Till now, he has been questioned for about 40 hours by the anti-money laundering agency, including on Monday.
