A day after hinting at supporting NDA's Presidential candidate from Odisha, Draupadi Murmu, Congress leader Suresh Routray has taken a 'U turn' on Sunday and has cleared the air that he will support UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha.

While addressing media persons, the Congress MLA from Jatani informed that he will not support 'daughter of the soil' Draupadi Murmu nominated by BJP as the NDA candidate for the Presidential election.

As per the final decision of the party's high command, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, I will vote for UPA candidate Sinha, he informed.

"I had earlier said, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Chellakumar and Sarat Patnaik are my supremo. We will follow their command. I would let everyone know that I strictly adhere to the party principles. Our party is one and we are one. We will support UPA candidate Sinha," said Routray.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Congress MLA had earlier exuded confidence that he will support Odia-born Murmu and will discuss the matter with the party supremo. The Congress leader said, he gave such a statement considering the interest and opinion of youths and the public. Later, several reports were published by the media and he received several phone calls related to the matter.

However, later he took back his words.
