Terming the present state of governance in Odisha as the 'law of jungle', senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra on Monday launched a broadside against the BJD-led dispensation in the State.

“Naba Das murder case is a deep-rooted conspiracy. Without a conspiracy how could one be so accurate in taking aim at the chest? The post-mortem report says the bullet grazed past the lungs. I think Naba Das died on the spot itself. It can’t be an accidental death. The deep-rooted conspiracy can’t be ruled out,” averred Mishra.

Taking a swipe at the Odisha Crime Branch, Mishra said, “The Crime Branch should have conducted press meets on a daily basis to inform the people about the developments in the case. They must inform about the developments because people’s faith in the Crime Branch is dwindling.”

He once again launched a scathing tirade against the DGP. “I have been saying that the people of Odisha are not aware of the presence of a DGP. Why the government is keeping him can be best clarified by the government itself.”

“In the Mamita Meher case, the prime accused died in Kantabanji jail. The Crime Branch is yet to find out whether it was a case of murder or suicide. This clearly suggests the capability of the Crime Branch and the police officers. They might be doing something to shield the accused involved in the case,” he added.
