Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has become the second longest-serving Chief Minister of the nation. He has also created a record in making promises and going back on them. Taking a jibe at Patnaik, Odisha's former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Samir Mohanty said this on Sunday.

‘Record has also been created in making promises and not keeping them. Promises have been given that each block headquarter will have a cold storage, farmers’ earning will be made double and create employment through industrialisation.  People of the state are well aware of how the promises are met. Maximum number of people from the Chief Minister’s own district witnesses is migrating to other states in search of work,” said Mohanty.

“That maximum number of children and pregnant women are suffering from malnutrition is also a record. It has also been a record in Indian history that people’s representatives are arranging people and putting up pandals for meetings,” added Mohanty.

Reacting to BJP's allegations, senior BJD leader Amar Satpathy said, “It is unfortunate that people fail to judge the mandate of the people and are speaking in an undemocratic way. They have not learnt anything from the Parliament, Assembly, Panchayat, or even the Zilla Parishad elections.”
