The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to organise a Mahila Samavesh either in Puri or in Bhubaneswar, said Odisha BJP President, Manmohan Samal on Monday.

With an aim to create awareness among women about the role of the BJP-led government in women empowerment, the party is all set to organise two such conferences in the country, one of them in Odisha, said sources.

While answering the queries of journalists, Samal said, “Two events will be organised in the country. While one samavesh will be held in Odisha, the second one will be held in another state. The venue, the date, and the names of the guests are yet to be finalised. Once finalised, we will let you know.”

“For women empowerment, Atal Bihari Vajpayee started with 1,000 SHGs which later increased to 3,00,000. Despite financial constraints at that time, he started the programme to help women become self-reliant. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken it to a new height. It has now taken the shape of a revolution,” he added.

"The women of Odisha have understood the role of the BJP in making the SHG model number one in the nation. They have decided to vote the BJP to power," he further added.
