With the 2024 General Elections less than a year away, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started pulling its socks up to strengthen the party’s organisation at the booth level.

The saffron party has set a target to strengthen all 36,000 booths at the grass root level in Odisha. For this, initiatives have already been started.

A State Level Booth Empowerment Workshop was held at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. While the party’s Odisha in-charge Sunil Bansal was present at the workshop, MPs, MLAs and senior leaders also took part in it.

Here, the leaders asked the workers to create awareness about the schemes and yojanas of the central government among the people of Odisha. The workers were also asked to do the task assigned to them sincerely.

“It was our routine programme. Our slogan to strengthen booths is not new. The slogan to strengthen the mandal and the booth has been there since 1951, at the time of the Jana Sangh.  Before the election, booth committees will be reconstructed and restructured. Steps will be taken to strengthen the organisation at the Mandal and Panchayat level,” said Manmohan Samal, senior BJP leader.
