Rumours over the exit of BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan from the party gained fresh currency on Friday after he came out in the open to express his unhappiness with the party leadership in Bhubaneswar district.

Speaking to OTV, the senior leader from Bhubaneswar (middle) said he has expressed unhappiness over the functioning of the BJP Bhubaneswar district unit.

He said he informed in writing to State BJP president Samir Mohanty about his disappointment. Subsequently, Mohanty held discussion with him yesterday and assured to sort out the issues within two days.

“I have conveyed my disappointment to party president Samir Mohanty and he has assured to resolve the issue. I don’t want the party to suffer and action is taken against the person doing the wrong,” Pradhan said.

“Earlier I had expressed my unhappiness over announcement of the district leadership because an inexperience person was given responsibility, that too without any discussion with us. The new person knows nothing about the party and now that is creating disturbances in the party,” he added.

Speaking about meeting BJD leaders Bobby Das and Sushant Rout, Pradhan said there was nothing to hide as he had informed about it to the party State president. “Sushant is an old friend, there is no harm in meeting him,” he said.

Notably, the senior leader had resigned from the party in June this year after Babu Singh was appointed as the president of the Bhubaneswar organisational district. However, he withdrew his resignation following persuasion by party leaders.

Pradhan was BJP candidate from Bhubaneswar (Central) Assembly constituency in the last assembly election.
