BJD ZP member death: Student Congress members storm Minister Tusharkanti's house

Holding School and Mass Education (SME) Minister Sameer Ranjan Das responsible for BJD Zilla Parishad member Dharmendra Sahu's death, student wing of Congress on Saturday barged into the residence of State Home Minister Tusharkanti Behera. 

According to sources, the congress activists took out a rally demanding police to bring Minister Das under the purview of investigation in connection with Dharmendra Sahu’s death case.

Irate protestors mobbed the residence of Home Minister Tusharkanti Behera and barged into his residence in the presence of Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh. As a result, a scuffle broke out between police and agitators. They also hurled eggs at the Minister's house.

Later, when the protesters were heading towards Naveen Niwas, police waylaid them. 

President of the outfit Yasir Nawaz said, “Odisha police have nothing to do except shielding the corrupt and dishonest ministers. SME Minister Samir Ranjan Das is associated with the death case of BJD ZP member Dharmendra Sahu. And there is enough evidence against him. Audio clips proving his connection with the case has gone viral too.  But he is yet to be suspended from ministerial berth."

"The Naveen government is yet to wake up from its slumber. We were heading towards Naveen Niwas to wake up Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from his deep sleep,” Nawaz added.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Sahu was found hanging in his residence in Sishupalgarh area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on September 24. Sahoo was the member of ZP Zone 11 in Nimapada.
