The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a massive win in the Municipal Board Elections in Assam by acquiring 76 civic bodies out of the 80 in the State along with alliance parties.

BJP National Vice President and state in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda hailed the landslide victory of the party.

“BJP has clean swept in the Urban Local Body elections in Assam. Of the 80 municipalities, we have registered victory in 74, and our alliance party has won in two municipalities. While, Independent parties won in two seats, the Congress was able to win only in one,” informed Panda.

Expressing happiness over party emerging victorious in the minority-populous areas, Panda further added, “People have reposed faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on the development of Assam and other northeast states with his motto of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, Sabka Viswas Sabka Prayash’. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the overall growth and development across the country is quite obvious.”

Panda also said, “The contribution of several other prominent leaders also added to the success in the elections. Home Minister Amit Shah resolved the militancy issues in Assam and northeast states. Party’s National President JP Nadda has also harped keen focus on the development of northeast States. The State leadership in Assam is dynamic. The team work including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and party’s state unit President Bhabesh Kalita became successful which is obvious from the poll results.”

The BJP National VP said the landslide victory drives home the point that people are showing more faith in the party which is emerging victorious in states where it couldn’t do earlier. “The party will register victory in other states in future,” Panda added.
