All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will visit Odisha and draw the blueprint for the revival of the party’s crumbling support base in the state, said State party president Niranjan Patnaik on Monday.

Talking to media following his return from New Delhi, Patnaik said, “Though the exact date of her visit has not been finalised, it will be declared soon.”

It is learnt that Patnaik had a separate meeting with Priyanka while attending the three-day Chintan Shivir of the party in New Delhi.

Patnaik discussed issues pertaining to farmers, politics, economics, social justice and unemployment with the AICC secretary.

Patnaik, meanwhile, said “Congress will perform well in Brajarajnagar by-poll and win the election."

Earlier, in an exclusive interview with OTV’, Patnaik, still smarting under the disastrous defeat of the party in the rural elections, said the BJD’s trump card was government money which was used to roll out a basketful of lucrative schemes ahead of the elections.

“The ruling Biju Janata Dal has been using abundant money from the State exchequer to unfairly gain political benefits through a basket full of schemes. This is putting us in an advantageous position,” he had said.
