The photograph of a ballot paper with a message scribbled on it has gone viral in Redhakhol area.

The scribbled words on the ballot paper cite the lack of primary education facility in Naktideula Block of Redhakhol sub-division as the reason behind the boycott of the election by the voter. Needless to say, the ballot paper becomes invalid if anything is scribbled on it.

As per reports, the ballot paper with the note, 'No Primary Education, No Vote' went viral on Friday during the ongoing elections in two zones of Naktideula Block. It is believed that instead of casting vote in favour of any candidate, the voter chose to write the message on the paper and clicked a photo before circulating it on social media platforms.

Nevertheless, the handwritten note on the ballot paper has raised concerns as to how someone could click a photograph of the ballot paper during voting at the booth by dodging security and surveillance.

It has been confirmed that the ballot paper was from Zone-II of Naktideula Block. The ballot paper bears a serial number as well as the signature of the presiding officer.

Meanwhile, Redhakhol Sub-Collector, Pabitra Behera said, "The scribbled note on the ballot paper is the personal view of the voter. We can't say anything about it. However, such an act is certainly wrong. We can ascertain anything after investigation.”
