Marriage is just like a festival, always super extravagant. Filled with fabrics, colours, food, rituals, and what not, marriages can be pretty expensive too. However, a couple in Canada’s Toronto decided to treat their wedding guests to McDonald’s meals instead of the regular catering service.

The unique wedding of Izzy Barreto and Justin has been grabbing all the attention on social media.

According to a report in India Times, the couple, both 32-year-old, decided to keep their wedding as much simple and pure. So, instead of the regular late-night catering, they planned to switch things up and ordered McDonald’s meals for the guest.

They happily spent Rs 60,000 (CA$1000) and ordered 100 double cheeseburgers, 100 pieces of junior chicken, and 150 french fries. The couple pre-ordered the meal on Uber Eats ahead of their big day.

“We wanted to do something that wasn’t super traditional,” said the bride.

“Everyone loves a McDonald’s after a night of drinking, and we knew our guests would love it. Our caterer offered us late-night food, but we turned it down as we wanted to do something fun,” she added.

Moreover, instead of a traditional wedding cake, the couple had ordered a huge cheese board.

“The whole idea of burgers, fries, and cheese was to make the guests feel the vibe,” the groom Justin said.

He further added, “A lot of people stick to traditions to make other people happy, such as their guests or family, but it’s your wedding day, so do whatever makes you happy.”

Luckily, the guests also loved the idea of burgers and fries and praised the couple.

“Our guests absolutely loved the idea. We also let them take McDonald’s home, so it was a win-win scenario,” Justin added.
