It is slowly becoming a trend to make reels and Instagram videos inside Temples and other religious places. The internet is filled with videos of youngsters dancing, proposing, and creating other content inside the premises of religious institutions.

A few days back, a video of a girl proposing to her boyfriend at Kedarnath Temple has gone insanely viral. Similarly, many social media influencers, with millions of followers, have also started making videos of their visits to Temples.

The internet is divided over people using religious places for high reach on social media and called for going to temples to seek blessing and not followers.

On the other hand, a section of people claimed that they were indeed promoting our ‘dharma’ and there was no problem with it.

The issue of making reels inside Temples and other religious places has sparked a debate.

A user wrote, “Those who truly believe in God have no problem with the people going only for views or reach. At least they are promoting our culture and dharma. This is better than posting vulgar cringe videos.”

“It’s fake, but at least they are doing the promotion of our ‘dharma’. Nobody has objection when they are seen dancing in semi-nude dresses. Jai Shree Ram,” commented another user.

“At least they are going to the temples and are influencing other people by doing so. I think they make reels only after offering prayers,” wrote another user.

Another user wrote, “In the world of cringe videos, people are at least making efforts to promote our culture and Dharma. Kudos to them.”

However, a section of people weren’t too happy with the videos and called it cringe-worthy and a tool to increase followers.

“Ban mobile phones inside temples and then we will see how many are actually going to temples for prayers,” commented a user.

Another user wrote, “Life me kuch bhi karungi, but kabhi bhakti ke naam par Instagram reels nahin banaungi… daan or bhakti aise karo ki kisi ko na dikhe.”

Similarly, another user wrote, “Bhakti ke liye jao, content ke liye nahin. Don’t make our religious places a picnic spot.”
Well, what is your opinion about the growing trends of making reels?
