Man tries to cut off own head to appease Lord Shiva

In a bone-chilling incident, a man grievously injured himself as he tried to cut off his own head to please Lord Shiva. The man from Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district was critically injured after he cut off his own head using a tree-cutter machine.

He was immediately rushed to the Jhansi Medical College. The injured man has been identified as Deepak Kushwaha, a labourer by profession.

According to reports, Kushwaha did odd jobs to support his family. During the probe, Kushwaha’s father revealed his son was a devout Lord Shiva follower and religiously offered prayers.

He visited a Shiva Temple around 4am early in the morning and proceeded to cut his neck using a tree-cutter in front of the altar, while chanting ‘Jai Bholenath’.

Villagers heard his cries and rushed to the temple to find Deepak lying in a pool of blood. Soon, he was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

He had been planning to do something special to please Lord Shiva. He had even written prayers to Lord Shiva and about his offering in a notebook.

“In the past few months, he had expressed his desire to please Lord Shiva by sacrificing his own head. I always told him that sacrificing his own self is madness. He had been insisting on performing this sacrifice for a month,” said Deepak’s father.
