Know why medical tablets have a line on them 

You must have seen some medicine tablets have a straight line drawn on the middle of them.  Ever wondered why this line is there?  If you think the line is nothing but a part of the design, then you are wrong. The line has its own importance. 

This straight line has its own name as well. It is called ‘Debossed Line’. 

There are hundreds of medicine tablets of different colours and powers. Generally, the line is found on high-power tablets that can be taken by breaking them into two halves. 

For example, suppose you have been prescribed to take 250 mg of a certain medical tablet. And you have this particular medicine of 500 mg. So, to take the prescribed power of the medicine, you can break it into two halves and take one half. 

Most importantly, all tablets can’t be taken thus. There are some tablets that don’t have the ‘Debossed Line’ on them. So, it is to be understood that these tablets can never be had by breaking them.
