Youth injured in firing in Odisha's Kendrapara

A youth sustained a bullet injury after a shootout took place at Balisahi area in Kendrapara district on Sunday.

The injured youth has been identified as Gautam Mallick from Bharigola village. He has been admitted to the nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the youth is stated to be stable.

As many as three miscreants, who were involved in the firing incident, have reportedly fled the spot after the incident.

After being informed, local police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. However, the motive behind the firing is yet to be ascertained. 

Old Enmity Suspected

As per sources, the firing incident might have occurred due to an old enmity between a professional criminal group.

As per reports, as many as three unidentified miscreants came in a vehicle and shot the victim in broad daylight before fleeing the spot.

Meanwhile, local residents have expressed their concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the area.
