A youth was arrested for allegedly duping job aspirants of around Rs 60 lakh by posing himself as the Personal Assistant (PA) of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the nephew of former Odisha Minister Raghu Mohanty.
The accused has been identified as Santosh Mahuri who is a resident of Berhampur.
As per reports, Santosh has duped as many as seven job seekers in Cuttack of around Rs 60 lakh by giving them false assurances of providing jobs in Railways, RDO, IOCL and Defence sectors.
After conducting an investigation into the alleged incident, police arrested Santosh.
Moreover, fake certificates of DRDO and Vigilance, a fake identity card of Indian Air Force, a laptop, 2 pendrives, eight mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, five passbooks and cheques were seized from his possession.
As per sources, Santosh had come in contact with a saint in Cuttack a few months back. Subsequently, he started duping the gullible job seekers coming to the ashram by impersonating PA of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the nephew of former Odisha Minister Raghu Mohanty.
