A youth in Bhubaneswar died of alleged drug overdose on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Sahu from Delta chhak, Rangali slum in the Smart city.
As per reports, Deepak went out with some youths yesterday morning. But he was brought back by two of his friends in an unconscious state in the afternoon. They told Deepak’s parents he has overdosed on brown sugar.
His parents rushed him to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar where the doctors pronounced him dead.
The police were informed who reached the hospital and initiated a probe in this connection.
However, his parents alleged Deepak was murdered by some miscreants who made him overdose on Heroine for some reasons. A complaint has been filed at Khandagiri Police Station by his mother.
“They have killed my son. His friends who had taken my son yesterday have killed him over money,” alleged Deepak’s mother.
The police are waiting for the post mortem report for ascertaining the cause of death.
